About The Project

This kitchen renovation in Bromborough was designed to completely change how the home felt and functioned. The existing kitchen was closed off, outdated and limited by a layout that made the space feel darker and smaller than it needed to be.

Mr & Mrs Williams wanted a brighter, more open-plan kitchen with better flow through the home, improved storage and a layout that would work naturally for everyday family life as well as entertaining guests. Natural light was a key part of the brief, along with creating a more spacious connection between the kitchen and living areas.

The finished design centred on removing two internal walls, opening up the layout and introducing two Velux windows to bring more daylight into the space. With a stone worktop, ceramic sink, LVT flooring, splashback and new appliances, the project combined practical family living with a cleaner, more modern finish.

The Process & The Kitchen Design & Build In Progress

The project began with a full strip-out of the existing kitchen and flooring, followed by the building works needed to create the new open-plan layout. Because two internal walls were removed, steel RSJs were required, with a structural engineer involved to provide the correct calculations and specifications.

Across the 6-week renovation, the work was carefully coordinated between builders, electricians, plumbers, a roofer, plasterer, kitchen fitter, painter and floor fitters. This included first-fix electrical and plumbing work, installation of the Velux windows, re-boarding and plastering the ceiling, kitchen installation, final connections, decoration and LVT flooring.

One challenge arose when the Velux windows were being fitted. The existing roof tiles had been installed incorrectly, which created an unforeseen issue and additional cost. The options were explained clearly to the customer, with the best long-term solution being to remove and refit the tiles correctly before completing the roof window installation.

Throughout the process, the customer valued the clear communication, tidy working practices and reassurance that updates were always available by phone or message. As the walls came down and the old kitchen was removed, the 3D design became a visible transformation, helping the clients see their original vision come to life.

Here you can see the work involved and what the space looked like as things progressed.

“Really pleased with the work carried out. His timekeeping was spot on, he kept everything tidy, and he stayed communicative throughout the whole job.

He was great at suggesting practical alternatives that avoided unnecessary costs, and he made sure everything would look right in the end. Friendly, easy to deal with, and someone I felt completely comfortable leaving in the house while he got on with things.

Would happily use him again.”
